Have your library card or UAF Polar Express card with you to check out materials.
Library cards are available to students, faculty, and staff of the Kuskokwim Campus and any Bethel resident with proof of mailing address. If you are working in Bethel for less than 6 months, ask about a temporary library card.
Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
Please use the hallway for eating, pop cans, and cell phone usage.

We have books, magazines, newspapers, videos, DVDs, audio books, CDs, CD-ROMs, board games, Internet access, and computer reference services.
Alaska Room – books, periodicals, and DVD/videos on Alaska
Videos and DVDs – both educational and entertaining
Children’s Room – picture books, nonfiction, young adult, fiction, films, LKSD Yup’ik language books, etc.
CDs – music and computer games and software
Periodicals – current magazines and newspapers. Physical back issues are stored for up to one year and may be checked out. Electronic full-text articles are available in a variety of subjects via the UAF Library Online Databases.
The library offers many services which you can access outside the library – take LS101 from the Kuskokwim Campus or meet with the Librarian.
A nice, usually quiet, place to study, also a place to hold conference meetings in the Alaska room.
Renew your own items online! Go to http://catalog.library.uaf.edu/bethel and click on My Account. The “User ID” is your library card number. Ask library staff for your current PIN number. That’s all you need to take a bite out of library late charges!
Printing is available – the first 5 pages are free. Additional prints are .20¢ per page.

If we don’t have something, you can request it from another library (Interlibrary Loan – ILL). Just fill out an ILL Request Form. Request early! Materials can take anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks to get here.
You cannot have any overdue books or fines to request an ILL.
Bring your ILL back on time.
The check-out period is determined by the loaning library. If you need to renew, ask at least 2 days prior to the return due date.
- There are 8 computers with Internet access at the library, one is for catalog searching only
- KuC open wireless is available in the library – use UAlaska and log in as a guest
- The computers are all PCs, running Windows 7 and have Office 2010
- Children must be 13 to use and have parental/guardian permission if under the age of 16
- There is a one-hour time limit per day.
