About the Bethel Public Library

The library has books, magazines, newspapers, videos, DVDs, cassette tapes, audio books, CDs, LeapFrog LeapPads, board games, internet access, and computer reference services.

Videos and DVDs – educational and entertaining
Children’s Room – picture books, nonfiction, young adult fiction and nonfiction, chidren’s videos and CD-ROMs
CDs – music and computer games and software
Periodicals – current magazines and newspapers. Physical back issues are stored for up to one year. Back issues may be checked out. Electronic full-text articles are available in a variety of subjects via the UAF Library Online Databases.

Library Hours
Monday – Thursday
Noon to 7pm

Friday – Saturday
Noon to 5pm

Closed Sunday

Checkout

  • A total of  8 items may be checked out at one time, 4 of which can be DVDs/Videos.
  • 4 weeks – Most books
  • 2 weeks – Best sellers, CDs, Cassettes, CD-ROMs
  • 1 week – DVDs and videos

Fines

  • 10 cents per day – Books
  • one dollar per day – Videos, DVDs, CDs, Cassettes, CD-ROMs

Computers

  • KUC Open Wireless is available in the library.
  • There are 5 computers with internet access at the library.
  • The computers are all PCs, running Windows XP and have Office 2003
  • Children under 16 must have parental permission to use the internet computers.
  • There is a one hour time limit per day.
  • Printing is available – the first 5 pages are free. Additional prints are $0.20 per page
